http://www.ianmiles.com/celebs/Trebek.jpg Perhaps many of you have seen this; a cursory search on Google nets you this result. Yes, it really is the venerable "Jeopardy!" host, completely barechested and VERY ready to rock.

The question I pose to you all: Does anyone know the story behind this picture? Why, exactly, did Mr. Trebek agree to a shirtless photoshoot? And does anyone know if Mr. Sajak will follow suit?

I dunno, but it looks 'Shopped IMO, but that's just me.

I wondered that, but IMO it looks real. It's also popped up in a number of different places; not that this negates the possibility of it being a 'shop, but it seems unlikely to me that such a photoshopped image would go viral.

IMO it doesn't, and I'm not usually good at picking that sort of thing out. It also makes a LOT more sense that it's photoshopped since, as you say, there's no logical explanation for him to have done a shirtless photoshoot. Also, you can usually identify the original source of just about any legitimate picture on the web. The fact that this one tends to just turn up on blogs is a real tell-tale sign to me that it's not original.

This picture has none of the tell-tale signs of photoshopping. There are no obvious cuts or areas of discontinuity. Everything is fluid and perfect; I suppose it could be a REALLY amazing Photoshop, but I dunno.

The 'stache looks off; Trebek's was fuller. I suppose it could be an un-shopped photo of someone who looks a lot like a younger Trebek? I have seen purported celeb pix that turned out to be lookalikes.

If you strip (no pun intended) the rest of the URL off the original, you're led to the website of Ian Miles Photography, which features eleven pages of similarly topless photos of other celebrities. The Trebek picture (page 9) does look a little off to me, but the other 65 pictures on the site all look pretty real...(BTW, there didn't seem to be anything there NSFW, but...)
