George Takei and husband to appear on Newlywed Game

The AP jumped on it as the show's "first gay couple," so it's all over the internets today:

"To boldly go where no..." ah, forget it.  It's been done to death.

Thats really cool.  And they've been married less than 24 months so they qualify.  (at least under the old rules, is it still the same now?)
<p>I share a birthday with Jack Barry.

We haven't taped that episode yet, but it's been talked about on set.
I'll let you know when those couples come out... I mean, when they appear!

Um...Randy, is there something you forgot to tell the class?

OMG, have I become so adept at keeping secrets that I forgot to "come clean" to my friends?

America's original reality show is back for a second season with several improvements... including ME! I'm behind the Electrovoice RE-20 right now, with my Telex headset and Sony monitor, and the scripts for today's five episodes. And man, does it feel like home to be back in the TV millieu!!!! 20 shows this week... Michael Davies on set... lovely Carnie making her magic... and me in the booth while some kid stands all day doing warm-up. Life is sweeter than ever!!

Terrific news, Randy. Carnie is really good--she deserves you!

One question--have they (you) changed the dorky end game?

And, Randy West, are you acknowledged by name by our host Carnie Wilson?
For example, "Thank you, Randy West" and "What have they won, Randy West?"

It's all "Randy this" and "Randy that"!
I haven't heard my name called on a mic this often since I was misbehaving in Junior High School assemblies!

George Takei appearing anywhere is worthy of a headline.

In three weeks he'll be appearing at Gelson's.

I'm more intrigued by the appearance of Monkee-for-life Davy Jones and his Latina telenovela actress wife, Jessica Pacheco. Apparently there was a report less than a month ago that he had accused her of spousal abuse.

"Ladies, what was the largest object that you personally have ever thrown at your husband?"

Fun ensues.

You mean other than Star Trek conventions? I'm wondering if George or his better half will be sitting with the ladies when the questioning starts.
