I see on the TPIR credits that Syd now has the title of Executive consultant.

Does he have any input on the show anymore or was this similar to his previous demotion to consultant?
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Styrofoam or paper coffee cups?

If his name is on the credits it's safe to assume he's getting a paycheck. Exactly what he's getting paid for is another matter.

Interesting that something of this sort is happening again with Price.  Everyone will remember Marc Breslow's credit of Creative Consultant (until 1996 or 97?), with financial benefits attached.

Yeah but Breslow was quite talented and had actually made valuable, tangible contributions to the show.

I remember during all my previous visits to TPIR pre-Carey, Syd would show up at the studio once a week. And I've parked in his spot many times. Nobody really knew what his purpose was (maybe kissing Barker's ass)?

During my 2 visits with Carey and Syd as EP, he would be in the booth reading a newspaper during the show.

Did you notice if he was reading the "Help Wanted" section?

One has to wonder whether he is even required to set foot on the lot in order to receive his "Executive Consultant" stipend.
