Fleming's version had them, and Trebek's had one as early as 85 (season 2), but not sure about season 1.

Dude, he's typing with his toes.  Aside from punctuation and capitalization, there's nothing wrong with his grammar.

The very first Daily Double was an audio on Trebek's version.

I can definately vouch for this: the first time I heard the song "Leaving on a Jet Plane" was via a Fleming era Daily Double.  My younger brother was watching the ep with me and he managed to correctly guess the song.
