'The Cube' will return for a second series in 2010

There was an announcement at the end of this week's show, and the ITV website confirms it:

The show didn't mention the 2010 part, but there's this note on the website: "The closing date for applications is 6pm on 31 December 2009."

Think goodness that it is coming back for another series.  Hopefully, they manage to come up with new games.

I have little reason to disbelieve that, but I wonder why we've only seen two dozen or so.

I still think CBS or Fox will pick this show up- especially if Perfect 10 does reasonably well....


\The question is, if Fox picks it up, which "Perfect 10" will they use for The Body?

Poorly made promos -- which, presumably, are beyond the control of Objective Productions -- could "stuff it up" in no time flat.

"See the million-dollar game that all of America will be talking about tomorrow!  Can John beat The Cube in its biggest challenge yet?"

I will be interested to see who they pick to host this- I'd imagine Fox would give MLW a call (and he might work)...Or perhaps a bit of an unknown. Too bad Phillip Schofield will probably be too busy in the UK between his talkshow and his other ITV shows (He'd probably be hosting Dancing on Ice around the time I think Fox would want to premiere it)- I think he could translate very well over here...

Unless anyone has other mitigating evidence, I think Kniwt gets credit for being the first on this board to associate this show with FOX in the same sentence here.

And full credit for the vision that this WOULD be a FOX show I say goes to tvmitch for this post.

And if Mitch's vision of the show comes to fruition, I am going to want him to give me some lotto numbers.

American Idol maybe, but seeing rumor on the street is that Simon Cowell is set to announce that FOX has signed a new contract with him to not only stay on AI, but bring over X-Factor as well, I see this show being paired with X-Factor to start.
