Not so much an injury, but a sudden illness happened on Dawson FF

An elderly guy was a member of one of the families, and he was fine during the first round. During the commercial break, the man fell ill, and sat on a stool for the rest of the show. Richard pointed out he was ill, and when Richard approached the ill man for an answer, he was clearly not in the right state, looking tired and a little disoriented. Richard demanded "Don't give him a strike!" and went on to the next player.

I also remember a guy on Password Plus had back problems and eventually had to stop playing. I don't recall if he returned to play.

Ross Schaeffer took a tumble on the steps during an intro on MG 90, and was apparently not injured, but one of the panelists mocked his fall by sporting bandages.

A Name that Tune contestant lost her footing when being overly excited on the Lange NTT. Ironically the song title was "Please Help Me I'm Falling"
Regarding the PW+ one, was this on or just before the week with Dick Martin and Lucille Ball?  I just dubbed an episode from this week and Allen refers to the current champion "calling out sick."

This isn't about a contestant, but I remember hearing that some guy died in the control booth on TPIR.  Anyone know the details?

Associate Director Bob Gray suffered a heart attack in the booth, I believe.

There was a contestant on Global GUTS who was injured during an event and had to be replaced.

Several contenders on American Gladiators were too injured to continue.

I've seen that on "Wipeout" as well.  Then there was this one guy on "Dog Eat Dog" who allegedly suffered brain damage due to oxygen deprivation during one of the underwater challenges.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I think the mechanism that was to vault him from the water upon a button press malfunctioned. When he eventually does fly out of the water, he's limp.

Didn't the Maxine Fabe book say this happened on some live show of the '50s or '60s?

Didn't a cameraman for the $64,000 Question get stabbed during a live broadcast?

in Italy many still remember the contestant that fainted on Wheel of Fortune.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ab_u9aZghIA

the interesting part begins at 1:13 into the video.

Mike, true to his style, didn't care about her at all, then he just told the producer how to resume the taping.
The first one I could think of was on Combs Family Challenge...during a stunt, one of the kids ran past Ray and knocked the microphone back into his forehead and cracked it open.  They surprisingly (at least to me) not only replayed the incident in slo-mo, but showed Ray with the bloody forehead immediately afterwards...
One of the last times Gene Wood worked was on Combs' Family Challenge. I wqsn't present, but was told that he slipped on the slime from a stunt, fell, and finished the day in great pain. He then saw a doctor and learned he had broken or otherwise injured 2 or 3 ribs.

I was working the companion show, Wild Animal Games, and was called to fill in for Gene. I said it then and say it now... what a trouper for finishing the day.

Actually, Randy, I WAS there when the Family Challenge microphone incident happened. I was there on an outing with my grade class at the city day care center I was put into for after school, and we got to go to Family Challenge as a reward for the year (iirc, I think I was in 4th-5th grade). After we got a tour of the studios (which did include stopping by WAG, but it was empty at the time), we got to sit in the front row of the "audience" for the entire taping. I did see the incident occur live and thought nothing of it. IIRC, I think that was also a broken/bloody nose, I'd have to look at the clip again to make sure, it's been too long since I've seen it. I know after the show went to break, Gene did some warming up with the audience while the crew tended to Ray. Gene looked over to Ray and ended up saying to us something along the line of, "Looks like he just got in a fight with Mike Tyson." We all laughed, obviously. After a few minutes or so, Ray was out of his corner, back on the stage, and the taping continued. I will say, it definitely put a highlight to the day.

Just another wacky story to add to the list, folks :P
