So it looks like the old girl still has some life left in her. I know NBC's 1123rd hour of Today pulls considerably lower ratings than these, but does anyone have numbers for The View? I'm thinking it overtook TPiR a couple years before King Bob left.

I'm very happy about this. It shows that if you continue to put out a fresh, quality product, people will watch.

The Price Is Right had never lost the timeslot to The View under Barker, and it had never lost the 11:30 half-hour to anything until last fall.

Some of this can be accredited to the stronger leadin that it has in a number of markets (LMAD is doing well and providing a decent lead in to TPIR)

I think in more markets than not, LMAD is actually not a lead in of TPiR.  Anyone have those numbers?

And anyway, LMAD's ratings aren't stronger than TPiR.

In 6 of the Top 10 markets, LMAD goes sometime before TPIR does.

They may not be stronger, but they're holding onto and building audience.  In any case, TPIR isn't bleeding audience.  That's the good thing.

And overall, it looks like the show is pulling roughly the same numbers that Guiding Light had, give or take. I don't think it's as much LMAD helping as much as it is people finally warming up to Drew.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

The week when TPIR was doing two shows a day, was it called "The Price is Right 3" and "The Price is Right 4"?

Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

The question would be whether they were stronger than whatever lead in to Price before, not whether they were stronger than Price itself.

That said, even if the ratings for LMAD are equivalent to whatever was there before (such as GL), that would have to be a plus for Price, since I imagine the percentage of Deal-viewers who would be interested in watching Price is higher than the percentage of GL-viewers who would do the same.

IIRC, the two hours were labeled A and B, probably each separated into half-hours 1 and 2.
This signature is currently under construction.

I'm sure TPTB are patting themselves on the back.  This was surely their plan all along, get a hot comedian to host (as is the trend), get a new producer, and hire a hot young director, and drag that aging old dinosaur of a show into the millenium.  Looks like it's paying off and back patting is in order.

Rich Fields has even dubbed it the "New version" of TPIR on his Twitter page. So, as somebody who started in Barker's tenure, even HE understands the show has changed. As long as we don't have those Drewcases we had in Fall '08, I think it'll be fine for another 10-15 years.

I'm curious to find out how many markets have TPIR going up against The View?  I'm sure most of the markets in the Eastern & Central time zones are /have been in an eternal battle with the gab fest, but you move out west (like here in Colorado), and Price is up against Regis & Todayed-to-Death --  The View airs one hour after Price.
