Brief mention of Roddy & Kalehoff on Stern
« on: November 04, 2003, 09:05:13 AM »
Caught a bit of Howard Stern this morning. Howard was mentioning he got a lot of e-mail about the way he treated Rod.

Also for whatever reason, Howard brought up Edd Kalehoff. He mentioned that Kalehoff wrote the TPIR theme when he was 19 and makes about $200,000 in royalties per year off that theme (sounds accurate. Score Productions makes about $125-$250k per year from their cues.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

On the other hand, it's long been believed by many that Sheila Cole Israel actually wrote the "TPIR" theme.  Kalehoff's credit for the show was supposedly given because he supervised the cue package project for Score.

All allegedly, of course.

Stan Blits insists it was written by Kalehoff.

I want Steve Beverly to interview Kalehoff for the truth on whether or not he wrote the TPIR theme also how he wrote the Double Dare (Nick) theme and how and when he met Andrea McArdle. Please ask Steve to interview Kalehoff at steve@tvgameshows.net

BTW, how is "Kalehoff" pronounced?

Wouldn't you rather a respectable journalist interviewed him instead?

Does the estimated $200,000 stop coming in to Kalehoff once TPIR goes off of the air, and the theme is no longer in use?

Yes, just as it did when all the other MGP shows he did music for were cancelled. Same goes for Bob Israel & Score Productions.

Aren't music composers paid royalties, not residuals? Performers, writers and directors get residuals.

Correctamundo, Chris.

I have nothing to add; I just wanted to type that wonderful word RESIDUALS!
