Huh, that's strange WNEM doesn't clear all of CBS' sked, so they have LMaD on WNEM-DT2 instead. (I'm a poet and didn't know it.)

I swear, WNEM is the most wacked affiliate I've ever seen.

One thing that will stick in my mind is one episode I saw where they played some dice game and saw "TEMP SHOT" on the top of the screen when they showed the dice table. How that got to air is beyond me.

Otherwise, it's not bad. I would have to agree that it needs to be truncated to 30 minutes, it feels like it drags on too long otherwise.

On Friday's show, Wayne did something Monty Hall mentioned he did a couple times. He had a few envelopes in his pocket, and handed the contestant the microphone while getting them out of his inside pocket. He then took the envelopes and started talking into THEM! He caught his mistake and laughed. Monty had said on LMAD that he once had a bottle of spray starch in one hand and mistook that for a microphone.

Finally watched a full episode today in real time. Meh! Everything was okay but I found nothing really compelling about this version. Only one trader for the Big Deal is a let down. Highlight: the look of disappointment of one trader when he was zonked.

Edit: I enjoyed the literal setting of the stage for the Big Deal.

Nothing against Wayne Brady, mind you, but what would you think of Harry "the Hat" Anderson as host of LMaD?

Actually, Wayne is a good host, but they better change back the Big Deal to what it was.

He's been away from acting for years plus from what I've seen, he's aged quite a bit.  If this was a GSN show, definitely.  They love 80s celebs in emcee roles.

His established persona is that of a smart-alecky con man, not really right for this.  Monty was the best, he zonked the ladies and they still wanted to hug him.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

I finally got to watch an episode yesterday (yes, I'm on top of things), and I enjoyed it very much.  Wayne doesn't quite have the snake-oil salesman vibe that Monty has, but he still does a good job.  His interaction with Jonathan was very good, and he seemed to be enjoying himself.  I only had some minor nits to pick other than the big one that everyone mentions, namely the one-player Big Deal and Wayne's buildup about which one is the Big Deal when we all know darn well it's the last one revealed, just as it always was in previous versions.  I'm not sure I would watch the whole hour every day if I were home, but I wouldn't mind seeing it from time to time.  An hour is probably too long, but then again with the amount of commercial time today, a half hour might end up being too short.

Mark Evanier weighs in on the subject here.  He, too, notes the problem with the one-player Big Deal:  "That means there's a 66.6% chance each day that the show ends on a losing note and a thud."

Either this was an aberration, or somebody is finally paying attention to the situation of the Big Deal always being the last Door opened.  Last week, in one show, she picked Door #3, which they showed last -- BUT IT WASN'T THE BIG DEAL!  The Big Deal was opened before that -- the LMAD Bank holding over $26,000 in Door #2.  She got a $13,000 car -- which was good enough for her.

If you're Mike Richards it isn't a problem; it's a prize-budget saver. Kind of like saying "it's not a bug, it's a 'feature'".

Anyone bothering to watch LMAD anymore?  It seems like the pace is much quicker now days.  I was surprised when I realized an hour had passed the last show I watched.

Have the deals become any more creative? The last time I watched there was a surfeit of "You can have $500 or what's behind the curtain" deals. This is ironic given the library of legacy deals Monty must have access to.
