Yeah, I agree with most of your guys' sentiments. Figuring I might as well give them a shot, I caught one of the six thousand repeats of Unstapled and Hidden Agenda. Aaand I wasn't impressed. Carnie's problems seem like a) they were brought on by herself in the first place, and if they weren't, then b) they were every other working mother's problems anyway, so she's no different than most family moms. Nothing in this show was intriguing to me and it didn't do anything to differentiate itself from all other celebrity docu-realities out there. I was fair. I gave it a chance. But I won't be watching again.. With Agenda, I appreciate GSN trying something relating to games outside of the traditional studio fare, but the show didn't compell me. The biggest emotion I got from the show was dislike toward the husband for being such a prick, and I don't think I want to watch a show where I don't like the participants every week. Nice try, GSN, but no thanks.

This "rerun abuse" buzzphrase you kids have come up with amuses me. Personally, I'd love to have a channel that's still "abusing" reruns of To Tell the Truth and Tic Tac Dough.

$100K Pyramid was only just beginning its second rerun cycle. I wouldn't call that rerun abuse.

They can abuse any version of I've Got A Secret (even their own) anytime they want, as far as I'm concerned.

I agree with Chris, that's a weird phrase to have stuck.  Pretty much pegs anyone who uses it as a member of the GSN Buzz forum, though.

[/quote]I agree, this is an overused term, but you must admit it does apply to quite a few shows currently on the GSN schedule. Any series with 10%+ of their episodes rerun in a given week would be abuse to me(basically recycle every 2 months). DoND produced around 200 eps and it plays at least 20-25 times per week. 1 vs 100 made around 30 and plays 5-10 times. Same can be said for their in house productions.

Okay, an explanation of the 'sigh' and 'seconded' comments would be appreciated. Obviously it's not a thumbs up to my last post. All I did was point out GSN was overusing some(many) of their product, and it warrants these replies? Maybe if I had 4 or 5 digit post totals I wouldn't get this type of response? From now on I'll keep my thoughts to myself and you guys won't have to waste your time thinking up such "witty" replies. This is an awesome way to build up hits on the site.

Mr. Lambert and I each commented about how amusing/strange/weird we thought the term "rerun abuse" was.  You began your post by agreeing with us, but in the very next sentence (actually, in the second phrase of your very FIRST sentence) you went on to do exactly the thing we said we found amusing/strange/weird.  Not only that, you came up with an elaborate mathematical formula for it and actually managed to call it "abuse".  It's as if you didn't realize we were talking about you.

The Carnie Wilson 'Hold On' parody commercial made this weeks 'The Dish' episode on Style network.

Unstapled is now in mockery stage.

The initial mockery stage.  Unstapled hasn't hit the big time until it makes The Soup.

The risk in abject, public mockery is that if viewers become aware the show exists they're then more likely to tune in as America loves a good trainwreck.  The best thing that could happen to this show IMO is for it to die quickly and anonymously.

On the other hand, it brings GSN more viewers.  I'm not supporting Unstapled at all, just pointing out a potential positive to this (unwanted?) exposure.

On the superfluous third hand, if it brings GSN more viewers, it could encourage GSN to program more such garbage.

You'd think they would have learned the lesson when American Dream Derby failed.  And did they ever actually air the proposed cat show?
