I was briefly confused by the score of "29" in one shot of Della Reese's podium, until I realized the photographer snapped just as the display was changing over from '19' to '20'.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

These are too neat, thanks for posting. Think how nice these would look developed in full color.

I don't recall seeing this in the few episodes I've seen...but did Cullen Pyramid follow the $20K rules for adding tiebreaker scores on top of main game scores? Yes, the negatives tell a story of a non-tie game, but I'm curious about this anyway...

Good luck getting that off black and white negatives.

When Cullen Pyramid first started, yes; if the Game 2 tiebreaker was halted by the final commercial, whoever had the higher score won an extra $2500. By the final year, the "7 in the fastest time wins" rule was utilized. Whether they continued to build on their scores or their scores were wiped clean is AFAIK unknown.

Thanks to these photos, and the information from Chuck Donegan's site, I was able to discover the celebrity pairings for 7 more episodes that aired during this versions' last season

Sandy Duncan & Dick Cavett
Mackenzie Phillips & Soupy Sales
Kathy Glass & Billy Crystal
Mackenzie Phillips & Robert Urich
Lois Nettleton & Michael McKean
Jo Anne Worley & Soupy Sales
Della Reese & Grant Goodeve

So now 18 of the 30 different pairings on the last season of Bill Cullen's $25K Pyramid are known. If only the other 12 celebrity pairings were known...

Whoa. Thanks Matt. Really appreciate it.

Slightly off-topic here, but of the many celebrities who appeared on the New York City era of the show from 1973-1981, it's unclear as to when exactly two of the celebrities in Gary Frank and Darren McGavin appeared on the show (if I'm forgetting any, please let me know). But more likely than not, it was during the original $10,000 Pyramid on CBS, in either 1973 or 1974.
