What "C" was a very popular boys' name in 2009?

According to CNN, the boys' name enjoying the greatest increase in popularity in 2009 was . . . Cullen.

"There's only one other popular figure with that name," says CNN, "and that's Edward Cullen."

But we all know better.

Well then, let's ask: How many board members have a child named Cullen?  If so, was it in honor of legendary MC Bill Cullen?

And, as we all know, "The Joker's Wild" is a game of definitions.

Ooooorrrr a legendary game-show host who still remains beloved 20 years after his death but, surprisingly, is not mentioned in any of the blog comments. Seriously, CNN...

Relax. I don't speak for him, but I think Mike was being a little tongue-in-cheek here. Try and be objective here for a moment. Bill Cullen's last game show was 24 years ago, his last appearance 23 (Pyramid). Outside of the cable reruns of his shows, I doubt anyone for a second would know anything about Bill Cullen, esp. today's generation of parents, who are likely in their early-to-mid-20s as Twilight fans. Most of them weren't even BORN when Bill hosted The Joker's Wild!

If CNN had included Bill Cullen, then they should've included poet Countee Cullen. This is not the slight you think it is, just like most other things that gets this group up in arms.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

How do we know Bill Cullen wasn't the inspiration for Ed Cullen?

Heck, they may even be the same person.  Has one ever seen the two in the same place at the same time?

How horrible. I suggest you stage a massive protest against CNN. Boycotts, rallies, the works.

Let them know you will not stand for this injustice against humanity.

I realize that "Twilight" falls outside the realm of game shows, but I think you were way too dismissive of the phenomenon. So if we assess your two 'contributions' to the thread separately, that puts you on -40 or so. Well out of contention for the Instant Bargain.

Yes, I realize the grand phenomenon of Twilight. My first post in this thread was a bit biting, I'll admit, and I actually don't recall what I was going for back then.
