f Andy doesn't try to chew the scenery (I pray that he won't) or artificially hype his part, this could work.
I think it would. Andy was pretty good about knowing his role as a sidekick to Conan, and offered the quips when necessary. His seemingly low-key persona actually reminds me a bit of Dick Clark, so I don't see him pulling a Richard Karn and yelling at the viewers.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Which proves that Andy doesn't have his head up his Richter. :)

Fact To Make You Feel Old: Just about every contestant who appears in a Price is Right Teen Week episode from here on out has only known a world where Drew Carey has been the host.

Of course they think there is a reasonably good chance it will get picked up. Whether it actually will or not is another matter regardless of what the packager thinks. That said, when a show gets to the pilot stage it's time to cast your emcee.

Richter might work out OK provided he doesn't catch the "I'm gonna double the points!!!" syndrome.

I think my kids are sick of hearing me saying, "I'm gonna double/triple the points!!!" everytime I play Facebook Family Feud.

I hope! Coincidentally, I watched this episode on DVD just last night. I think Donnie might do even better than Andy at the post-mortem following an unsuccessful Winners' Circle.

I love Andy to death, but I fear he won't be smooth enough to make it work. Howie is able to do smooth, Sagat was (helped by editing, at least), Drew is not.

You know who could make it work? Good ol' Chuck Woolery. People know him. Still youthful and vibrant on Lingo. I don't think he's as dumb as John Davidson.

So long as you realize this isn't a particularly high bar to cross. :)

He's the opposite of smooth.  On purpose.

This is kind of an interesting evolution in game show host qualities.  In the 50's we had the glib radio guys, which led in the '60's-'70's to very attractive gentlemen with sex appeal to women and today we mostly are getting comedians who are not exactly heart throbs.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Those sexy guys in the '60s and '70s included many "glib radio guys": Wink, Geoff, Eubanks, Lange, Sajak ...

Said of Chuck Woolery:

The difference is when Chuck made a mistake, he KNEW it. I saw Davidson's Squares tape at Radio City in NYC in the 80s. I can't count how many times they stopped tape because Davidson screwed up.

That having been said, I think Andy Richter could work well as Pyramid host. He has "straight-man" experience and doesn't come across as having a huge ego. They could easily tape around Conan's schedule. I agree with anthing except the Chenbot show replacing ATWT.

And if Andy can't make it, as in the case of the Jeopardy! finals, they can just have a fill-in.
