It happened once on the Dennis James' version and they both won their showcases.
I recalled at that incident which it did happened during its first season, but now thinking vaguely of the difference, I believe it was each contestant had in their bids either $326 or $325 away from the ARP of their own showcases.

Sounds right, I seem to recall it being between $250 and $350.

Few?  Obviously you didn't see much of Doug Davidson's version.  The echo (echo echo) showcase is a great example, as is a showcase with quite a few double entendres, as Burton was caught reading a Harlequin romance-like novel when he was to be describing showcase prizes.
One of my favorites involved Burton trying to blackmail Doug Davidson in some sort of scandal, and Doug counter-blackmailing Doug by showing a pic of Rod Roddy.
I know what you meant, but I'd pay to watch a good hour of someone trying to counter-blackmail himself.

You may be thinking of the daytime show, as a $326/$325 pair happened late in Season 1. The nighttime tie, which I think Kenneth Johannessen told us about (although I can't find the post), had the difference as $537.
The $326/$325 thing was actually the daytime show (August 15, 1973). There was also the $30/$29 one on March 24, 1975.

James' tie, which I think was related by Kenneth Johannessen (although I can't find the post either here or elsewhere), had the difference as $537.
Thank you Wikipedia.

Seriously? A message board dedicated to game shows (primarily from the 60s/70s/80s) and you think obscure trivia is a bad/unimpressive  thing? Granted the presentation may be lacking but c'mon...

I guess this thread didn't register on your radar seeing as it's nothing but obscure trivia.

Dropping minutiae in an attempt to a) be relevant b) be accepted and c) show off how "smart" you are (i.e. the Horan effect) is quite another.
