In regards to the tiebreaker round — most of the time, it went something like this: Team A plays its 7 words. Team B is given however much time it took Team A to get to the 7th word. If Team B gets all 7 in that time or faster, Team B goes to the Winner's Circle; otherwise, Team A does.

Now, I've seen some episodes where Team B didn't get all 7 words in time, and even one or two where Team B got cuckooed (if I'm not mistaken, there was even one where Team B got the cuckoo on the first word). But was there ever an instance where Team A didn't get all 7 words? If so, how was the tiebreaker handled?

According to Wikipedia (which as we all know is never wrong), the second team tries to beat the posted score. If they tie with a sub-7 score, another tiebreaker is played.

If I'm reading your question correctly, I remember an 80s episode where Team A got 6 out of 7, and Team B got the full 30 seconds. However, Team B also got 6/7, so they had a second tiebreaker. After it was all said and done, Dick had to rush the winning team to the Winner's Circle.

Proof.  As per the flow of the game, team "B" gets first control of the second tiebreaker.

This is actually the one I remember watching many years ago. Three count-em three tie-breakers!

/On Pyramid 2K10, the first two would clearly be edited out
