Even if that's true (and it probably is), that doesn't really change Chris' point.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.

"Barker's Beauties," "Barker's Bargain Bar," "Barker Wall"...the terms mean the same thing after he retired as they did before.

Because I've never heard the term before, I assume the "Barker Wall" = "Race Game Curtain"?

Actually, it's the thingy behind Door #2 during the host's entrance.

Now that I know that's the "Barker Wall", I think I'll still call it "the thingy behind Door #2 during the host's entrance."

Oh...I've been calling it the "Blockbusters Wall" for a while.

Yes, but the symbolism behind continuing to use two of those terms (hint: the ones that aren't a proper name) long after the fact has certainly changed.

That's a fair point...but it's a term I've used since I was a kid and have never bothered dropping, and I'm probably still not going to.  You're perfectly welcome to think whatever you want about that.

What do the stagehands call it?

Even when Barker was there, "Barker's Bargain Bar" was listed as "Bargain Game" on show rundowns.

The Barker Wall.  That's actually how we got the name.
