2. For those believing a national monument is being defaced with comedy, remember - the original Cullen TPIR used to give out gag "bonus" gifts every so often (my favorite was the peacock that went with a color TV to serve as a color guide).
Yes, that gag bonus gift can be found in one of the Cullen episodes (1/20/1958) at the Paley Center for Media's collection.  To further add, Cullen then explains to the audience that all nighttime programming was being seen in both black & white and in color.  He demonstrates this by showing one side of his jacket's bold red inside lining (for those viewers with color sets), and then the other side of his jacket's lining but with a big "RED" card taped inside (for those viewers with B&W sets).

That would be an amazingly kickass Showcase theme.  Let the models in on it too!

No, she was a contestant.  Keep up.
You know, I had an interesting thought... I don't know how feasible it would be for the show, though...

What if Mike Richards intends on not replacing Rich Fields? That is, make the announcer position a rotating one, similar to the models.
That's a pretty cool idea!

Why the need for a permanent replacement anyhow?. Just use rotating announcers instead.

I thought Rich had said that he would NOT be doing the show. Why would he agree to a rotating position?

The suggestion was that Mike Richards not replace Rich Fields with one single individual, and replace him instead with a rotating group of announcers.  Either way, they're replacing Rich.

Yeah, I should've clarified that a little better. What I meant is that they would not fill his position with any single individual.

I can see how you can find that confusing.
Cheers,

Who did the voiceovers for the "not appearing on stage" prizes on today's rerun? It wasn't Rich.

My guess would be it was J.D. Ruberto.

I'd also like to make mention that I have read somewhere, forget where now, that CBS is going with a talk show. similar to The View, to replace ATWT. Julie Chen is to be one of the co-hosts. So, it appears we won't be seeing another gameshow on CBS.

I'm a bit confused now - according to Rich's statement, he indicated that Mike would be holding an on-air audition search for a new announcer, but yet we have only heard of 3, who are said to be "rotating announcers".  So, does this mean these three will be the only announcers? And there will not just be one as we have been used to all these years?

It means not only do we not know what they're planning, they probably don't either.
