To me, though, it just represents most of what's wrong with the internet, all packed inside one convenient URL.[/quote]Just like Wikipedia, I like the idea of TV Tropes, but the people who are allowed to contribute ruin it.
There's an episode of Frasier where Martin tries to juggle two dates on the same night. It would be nice to have a repository of all of the times where 2 Dates, 1 Night was used. Or when Lore was Data's evil twin on ST:TNG. Or the instances of Main Character Gets On Game Show, Fails Spectacularly, or We Should Kiss Passionately and See If That Resolves Our Differences. And so on. But self-appointed experts draw from their own knowledge, so you have overload on manga and anime, and so on. And that makes sense, if that's what the experts are into. But I'm not, so I don't give a darn about that. Sadly, there's no sort of qualification exam that you could take (like Britain's A-levels, I think) to get an operator's license for this sort of thing. I question the idea that the Bonus Round is a trope. That's a mechanic. Not the same.
