Fall 2010 Syndication Questions
« on: August 18, 2010, 11:06:36 AM »
I know that "Don't Forget the Lyrics" was meant to be a companion to "Are Y ou Smarter Than a 5th Grader," but does that mean "5th Grader" will stop double-running episodes this fall?

Does "Lyrics" have a web site yet, or does anyone know where there's a list of clearances?

Have the reruns of "Cash Cab" been picked up by anyone? I've looked at a few stations' fall schedules and haven't seen it anywhere.

www.dftl.tv appears to be the official "Lyrics" site, but it doesn't have a station list.

I was wondering about the Cash Cab reruns myself...anyone know?

Here's Lyrics' site, with no station list.

I saw an ad for Lyrics yesterday.  In Cleveland/Akron, it will air on WBNX-55 at 5 PM.

Probably so. I know WSKY will air "Lyrics" this fall, but "5th Grader" aired on another station. I'm guessing the latter will go to WSKY as well. I saw a MyNetworkTV logo in the lower corner...I'm guessing "Lyrics" will air on a weeknight as well?

It still might be a little early. Usually TV listings only go about two weeks into the future, which is only the first of September...however, I'm eager to see the new listings; the Norfolk CBS affiliate is moving "Ellen" to 3pm, so I'm curious as to what that means for LMaD here. Maybe 10am, and push the "Millionaire" hour to 9am?

Ah. Thanks.

And a former co-worker who now works with the affil. just told me that Ellen switches timeslots with Deal, which (assuming Millionaire doesn't go anywhere) makes a 3-hour morning games block on that station. With CBS picking up the Chenview at 2pm, it kinda makes sense to lead into Ellen...

Markets that have the CW Plus (the centrally-programmed digital subchannel version of the CW) will have DFTL there.

On my digital cable guide, Sept. 13 on DC's WDCA-20 looks like this:

9-10 am TBA
10:00 - Family Feud
10:30 - Don't Forget the Lyrics
11:00 -- double-run 5th Grader

No sign of syndie Cash Cab yet.

Why run your games oppo the CBS block?

Zap2It's grid can be forced out to ~11AM on the 13th, so you can start looking at where things will start to fall.
When you're at the grocery game and you hear the beep, think of all the fun you could have at "Crazy Rachel's Checkout Counter!"

Baltimore has picked up Millionaire for the first time in a couple of years, WBFF-45 will air it at 11 and 11:30AM (so there will be 3 GS in the same slot here- WUTB-24 is carrying 5th Grader, and WJZ-13 is TPIR). It stays on WJLA-7 in Washington at 12:30PM, where it's been for a while.

WEYI 25 is in Flint/Saginaw, Michigan is moving Family Feud from 2pm-3pm back a few hours to 11am-12pm. Real Housewives of Orange County will take the 2pm-3pm spot on September 13th.

South Bend's stations really haven't changed stuff up much - Feud moves from 12 noon double to 10AM double (for Real Housewives) and Fifth Grader gets a double-run for the new season.  Lyrics is still MIA, which is odd for this area (the latest a syndie game has aired in the last 10 years or so was Jeopardy at 7:30).

DFTL looks like a no-show in central PA (unless I missed something).  Only significant change looks like WPMT moving 5th Grader to 9am

(ah, DFTL doesn't start until the 20th...still don't see any place it'll fit)

As far as Pittsburgh goes, I've seen so far that...

According to Zap2It:

DoND's final day on WPGH (Fox 53) is 9/3 ... It is being replaced, at least for one week by "The Fresh Prince Of Bel-Air" @ 5:30pm
5th Grader dissapears off of WPGH as well after 9/10.  The 5-6pm hour is being filled by a double run of Nancy Grace's syndicated show come 9/13.

Millionaire retains it's 1:30pm slot on WPXI (NBC 11) sandwiched between Dr. Oz and the 4th hour of Today.
(Interesting side note here, according to local TV blogger Rob Owen, Dr. Oz relocates to WTAE, the local ABC affiliate, in Fall of 2011)

LMAD and TPIR stays put at 10am and 11am respectively over at KDKA, but that could change come October when CBS's answer to The View, The Talk debuts.

Now...I've gone to 5th Grader's website, and right now, they are homeless in Pittsburgh (Right now, they have Pittsburgh, PA confused with Pittsburg, MO.  If you pull up Pennsylvania on their station list, instead of "Pittsburgh" you find "Joplin-Pittsburgh" and "KSNF").

I've tried pulling up Don't Forget The Lyric's website at DFTL.TV, but nothing comes up at all other than their page background image (Looks like the webpage may be in the process of being updated.  Maybe we'll have a station list after the Labor Day holiday).

Then finally, we have Family Feud.  After years of languishing over at WPXI, according to Feud's own website, they have the show listed as airing on "KDKA/WPCW Weekdays, 2:00pm".  However, I really don't see KDKA picking up this show, so it's a pretty sure bet that it will end up on the CBS O&O's CW affiliate.  No word if it will be single or double-run as Zap2It does not have the show slotted on either one of the CBS Pittsburgh Duopoly stations.
