Emmy loss = End of Race?
I understand what you're saying, but I thought shows like Survivor and Big Brother ran their courses years ago and they're still (unfortunately) on.
When someone leads off with this, I'm less likely to buy into whatever someone says.

I hope Amazing Race stays afloat.  Out of all the reality/competition shows, this is still the best.
Really? Amazing Race went from a merit-based race to a muddle. You have, just off the top of my head:

Non-elimination punishments that make it harder for a team who has just been pardoned to stay in the game.
Bunching of teams at airports, where teams that fought to get the lead lose it.
Tasks that are based completely on luck (like, say, finding a clue in a haystack)
The yield, which turns the game from one of merit into one of "who can we tick off right now".

And that's to say nothing of the teams that are cast, which range from your average Ugly Americans to those that do nothing but argue until they're out.

Survivor isn't perfect either, with their reliance on puzzle pieces, pocket immunity and twists that sometimes fall flat or cancel out previous ones.  But I think you can make the claim that Survivor is the better game.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

It's funny you mention about the imminent demise of the Amazing Race format - because we in Australia have now decided to produce our own version, after airing all 16 US seasons of the show. Clearly they don't think the concept is dead. They're even considering Phil for the hosting role.

Funnily enough, the same network is producing a version of "Iron Chef" as well.

Well considering all the buzz they've gotten because of a clip they've released about a Racer having an unfortunate encounter with a watermelon, they'll probably be OK...

If The Amazing Race gets cancelled, it really will be no loss for me.

Now if TPIR was to be cancelled, THAT would be a HUGE loss for me, seeing I grew up with the show.
I am developing classic game show PC games.

Now see, I would have guessed that you'd grown up with The Amazing Race.  After all, it's been running for nine years.

It may be only nine years, but according to the publicity it's been on for sixteen seasons!
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.

Oh, of course.  For the next few weeks, this place is going to be even more of an escape for me from the "real world" than it usually is.  Nothing too dramatic, I've just suddenly got a lot on my plate.  So sometimes I may just have to create some fun.
