Okay, lemme rephrase that:  I don't think they aim for a particular average.

(Honestly, I could go to Scorpz's site and figure it out in probably less than 10 minutes, but I'm feeling lazy tonight.)

Ahhh... my DVR said it was a new episode.  Thanks for the correction.  I'll DVR next Monday-I appreciate the information!

Just wondering, bimodal or not,  on "That's Too Much" if knowledge of the distribution would lead to any better chance of winning, since it sure appears that P(winning value) is not equal across all prices.  Also wondering if the jump between consecutive prices is any help either.

With those numbers, the average is 5.27, which is obviously not all that useful.

Random observation:  In the Drew era, the game has never been won when the correct price is sixth.  Makes you wonder why they don't put it there more often.

True, but the correct price placement at #6 has only happened once in three years. More interesting that the game has not been won when the price is placed either at #2 or #9, which has happened a collective total of 25 times (29%).

I'd swear I remember one contestant winning at the second price, mainly because I couldn't believe someone actually stopped that early.

(Apparently not, though.  So what am I thinking of?)

The source I used could be wrong, who knows.

You're not crazy - I remember it too and was equally shocked.
