If it is Woolery, it wouldn't be history though- Jack Narz hosted the syndicated version of Beat The Clock in the early 70's then announced Monty Hall's version, so it wouldn't be the first time a host of a show does the announcing for the same show (though it might be the first time during the same RUN of a show)...

I thought they might have a MDW.

It's not the same run though. Woolery never hosted syndicated WoF. Only daytime.

Twas similar to my thoughts. The way it was worded, my idea was that the history wasn't so much with the announcer that was there, just that some sort of history (alternate scenarios could be the million is lost or someone breaks 6 figures in the main-game) was made on one of those episodes, in particular, when some guest announcer was there. His presence, thereafter, might have been possibly looked at by someone as being some sort of lucky charm. :P

But if Randy says the announcer that taping has a connection with Wheel, then yeah, I'll throw out my biased guess they grabbed MG Kelly (he was on my list of personal preferences for it), hope he does a good job, and eventually makes the shortlist for taking the job permanently down the line if he does. Bob Goen (who does have radio experience), is another potential candidate...

/Heck, either of them would be a lot better IMHO on there than half the announcers I've seen on GS's lately, and compared to others I'd suspect would be given shots at it (judging from prior experience).

Or maybe two in one week? Uh, oh, that's a budget-breaker. Someone check on Harry Friedman. ;-)

But what I said was that this guest announcer was unique to Wheel - meaning different than anything Wheel has done before. No previous connection with the show was implied. Sorry if that wasn't clear.

That's 3 down, and we go to Arlene Francis   ;-)

This would make me a very happy Wheelloon. But, unfortunately, I still see it as a longshot... :(

Well, her show is with the same syndicator and she does the promotional consideration reads on her show, so I'll guess Oprah Winfrey.
Let's Make a Deal was the first show to air on Buzzr. 6/1/15 8PM.
