Another TPIR Appearance!

The wait is over, (sort of).

After 9 weeks, my latest trip to The Price Is Right will finally be aired (barring any stupidity by Michael Jacko) TODAY 11/25.

Unfortunately, I did not get called down, but my new lovely wife did get Randy to say 'COME ON DOWN'!!!

Look for us in the red & white 'Just Married' T-Shirts.

And yes, the prize(s) she won were just what we needed!

Congrats to you and your bride. I sincerely hope CBS wouldn't cut into TPIR to update on Michael Jackson's latest supposed stupidity. I don't mean to go into a debate about news stories being more important than a game show, but Michael Jackson news is no more important than TPIR.

For once I agree. There is nothing newsworthy about Michael Jackson fiddling about with little kids. He's been doing it for years.

COngrats to her on getting on, sorry she didn't make it onstage(but getting called down for the last IUFB is better than nothing). SHe would be more likely to win Ten Chances today than Faye was.

Congrats, and I agree with Zach!  :)

I must ask you what "rule change" in mid-gameplay you discussed previously.  Please inform me what I missed.

Maybe he's referring to Bob letting the contestant change a repeated price in Ten Chances, and then pressing the button and moving on when the price Faye changed to was also a repeated price.

Wait until 12/17 when the rules will really change for a game...
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Perhaps they were listening to Steve Miller.

{singing} "I'm a joker...I'm a smoker...."

"Hey, wow, man...."

"Now remember, due to time constraints for required commercial time, and prize budget constraints, the mountain climber now only has TEN steps he can take before going over the cliff."

Actually, Zach was right on the odd gameplay going on during Ten Chances.

Now since it's been a while since I've seen it happen before, what IS the official ruling when a contestant writes down a duplicate price on Ten Chances?

Interestingly enough, I had told my wife for the past 6 or 7 months prior to going to the show that if we got to see the show, I knew they would pick her!  She doubted up until the day of taping, but after we got interviewed by Mr. Rossi, I had a strong feeling about it.   Not only did she get chosen from our interview, but Robert, the guy who won Time Is Money, was also in our 15 person interview group.

Here was another bit of irony -- When we entered Studio 33 on the day of taping, the song that began to play just as we were coming in was Quincy Jones' "Soul Bossa Nova/Austin Powers/Definition Theme", which was the exact same song we used when we were formally introduced for the first time at our wedding reception the Saturday before.  (The rest of the wedding party was introduced with the "Wheel of Fortune" Alan Thicke "Big Wheels" Theme!)

All in all, it was a wonderful experience, and I guess now it's safe to unpack our bar & vacuum cleaner as show has finally aired.

Does Price really need more change?

Maybe it will be a change for Poker Game (we could only hope).  Darn, I won't be home to see it (stupid school!)

I'm almost positive it's "If Bob doesn't notice, tough luck for the contestant."

It's not a permanent change as far as I know and it's not for Poker Game.

It's one of those changing rules in mid-play deals.

It will be better explained after it airs.

Tim: Thanks for also referring to the Definition Theme... brings back memories :)

Slightly OT: "Definition theme" was sampled in 1991 (ish) by the Dream Warriors in "My Definition of a Boombastic Jazz Style".

Just FYI...

Cheers,

Ryan :)

PS - Congratulations on your "wedding gifts"
