I heard him say "Ladies and gentlemen, Pat Sajak and Vanna White" and I instantly liked him for the job better than Rich Fields.

Angelenos may recognize him from his work on KNX 1070 AM (news radio).  He's a good voice.

Didn't he have an audition with TPIR before they hired Rich?

Yep.  And (of course), so did Rich.  Do we know if Randy is getting some airtime?

Not bad, but clearly dubbing over Charlie's handiwork (Pat's voice has also been dubbed over). I've already expressed my thoughts on this.

On a related note, the weekend repeats from last season have Charlie's voice intact minus the (new?) Spin ID which Vanna announces.

Oddly enough(since I don't live in LA) I had to look up his name; but here's the thing: numerous shows over the years have had local radio personalities doing the announcing, so I like this, maybe full time and maybe not who knows.

Much better than Rich. I don't get it. As hammy as Rich was on TPIR, he was M.G. Kelly levels of subdued on Wheel.

I'm sure some of you will get a kick out of this: Rich Fields pimped his sting on Wheel this week, except this week's guest is Thornton!
