Anyone see last wk's NY Times Television supplement? It features a cover story titled \"When Winning is Everything: GSN Expands its Playing Field\", and features pics of W!, Lingo, and Cram, plus an article on the channel and the debut of Naturally Stoned and Funny Money.

I did and I was going to post it here, but it was pretty much the same as other articles I've seen.

There was a line I found interesting with Woolery making a statement like this:

\"If I were still hosting Wheel, I'd be making 15 million a year\"
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

And unfortunately, the seven days have run out (and the Times usually doesn't put TV magazine articles in its Arts home page, so I didn't know about it until today), so if any of you are registered with the Times and want to read the article, it will cost you $2.95.

Better to look it up on a LEXIS search in the library or hope that they keep the Sunday Times around a little longer or don't throw out all of the loose sections except for the Magazine.

The article's entitled \"COVER STORY:  'Love Connection' Meets 'The Osbournes.'\"

That's a pretty crass comment from someone who's had a very successful career going for almost thirty years.  Does he want us to feel sorry for him?  I realize he now takes the blame for the falling out with Merv, but jeez, Chuck, look around.  You ain't hurting.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

Unfortunately, most libraries outside the New York area get the national edition of the Sunday Times, which doesn't include the TV magazine.  However, big bookstores/newsstands should have last week's city edition for a couple more days (unless they're sold out)...but compared to what they charge for the city edition, that $2.95 for getting the article from the online archives is downright reasonable.
