I wonder if there would be any difference in Watson's performance versus Ken and Brad if the game material is comparable to a regular episode or comparable to a Tournament of Champions episode. It seems like Tournament of Champions material is more straightforward with fewer of the in-clue hints that make correct responses easier for human players but are more likely to confuse Watson.
They took note of that in this AP article- they added a function where Watson has to physically press a buzzer to ring in...
Cute. Wish they would have gone into more detail about what they did. The absolute fairest thing would be to rig up some kind of photo cell that triggers a relay when the you-may-buzz-in light goes on. It'll still be blindingly fast, but it would be an accurate representation of the senses and the humans would have one advantage that Watson would not: anticipation.

Video of Watson in action, from Engadget.  Very excited to see this in full play.

I love the first video. Ken is SO frustrated he can't buzz in time.

Um, yeah.  Some of us already know how THAT feels.

I just saw an IBM commerical promoting Watson's appearance a few minutes ago. Alex makes a brief appearance.

I noticed that as well, I think during last week's playoffs.

Can I just say how classy the Watson-tournament set looks?  Pity they can't (or won't) keep using it.
