This is totally cool! I had heard that Family Feud was released on DVD for play on a dvd player(using the remote keys, arrows, etc.) but never could find it. Well, I've found Trivial Pursuit on DVD many places(Wal-Mart Stores has it for sure according to their ad in the Thanksgiving paper)

If anybody has bought it, let me know how it is. I'm going to beg for it for Xmas(unless I break out the 26.99 and run to WalMart to get it myself(grin))

Yeah, that's new. In addition, we have a Trivial Pursuit game coming out for the PS2 in the first quarter of 2004...I think we have it set for a February release right now...

I have never heard of a DVD Family Feud game. Is this true? If so does anyone have any info on it.
I have been looking for games (especially game show type) that can be played on a DVD player. (Right now I make my own and save them in MPEG, burn them and then play them in DVD player, but it has to be a game that can run in order, I did "Bumper Stumpers" once and TPIR, one I made for TPIR's "Lucky Seven" pricing game,you just reveal the 1st number, pause it, ask contestant for 2nd number, play, pause etc., not too many pricing games you can do that with!) Not too shabby but I wish a company would develop something like this.

The very nature of DVD has me thinking that you shouldn't hold your breath...you're not gonna see anything like that soon...

I figured that, but since it was said, I thought I'd ask just to confirm that the FF comment was in fact a false statement.

I have seen games for play on DVD players on the market so I didn't rule out the possibility of a FF DVD game until I had confirmation.

You've seen games that were designed for laserdisc systems in the first place, like the Dragon's Lairs, and Space Ace (what I wouldn't give for Cliff Hanger). You're not going to see anything that requires any kind of input system beyond a simple multiple choice, because the DVD-Video spec just doesn't have support for such things in it. Further, the spec wouldn't be able to keep score, so the majority of game shows simply wouldn't translate.

Were there a market for it, I could see Millionaire done for standard DVD players. 50/50's would have to be predetermined, of course, and it wouldn't be able to ask for your name to put on the check like the current console and PC versions do, and Fastest Finger would blow, but you could do it.
