When puzzles get solved the letters come on by themselves they don't need anyone touched the board anymore not like when they had the old board with the triangle things that had to be turned by hand.  They keep showing the board at an angle that looks like Vanna is gonna walk into the camera what for?

As opposed to back in the 1990s, when they were playing 4 or 5 rounds. Or the shopping era, when they were playing... 4 or 5 rounds.

Honestly, I'm seeing more fifth and sixth rounds in the past three years than I've ever seen before. And this is with three Toss-Ups and more commercial plugs. I've only seen one game in the pre-Toss-Up era that went to six rounds, and even then, the round 6 puzzle was six letters.

When puzzles get solved the letters come on by themselves they don't need anyone touched the board anymore not like when they had the old board with the triangle things that had to be turned by hand.

Now where did I put that Irismasonese-English translator again? Haven't had much use for it lately...

Seriously though, they could get rid of Pat and/or Vanna, but they don't because both are so inextricably associated with the show. Why do you think Alex Trebek is still doing Jeopardy! at age 70? Why do you think Bob Barker was still hosting The Price Is Right into his 80s?

2. Less rounds is more likely because of increased commercial time. I don't think removing Pat's banter would help any, unless you want all spinning and puzzle-solving and no fun. Serious business?

In the beginning, the board was mechanically operated. When the show started it wasn't, and Susan/Vanna did become an iconic part of the show. To say "she's not hawt anymore, she should leave" is laughable, even if "all she does is walk back and forth [and have to keep track of what letters are where, and not reveal something accidentally, or trip, and reading the various prize copy that she does] I also think the fact that there's an actual board and not just electronic blips that turn on and off to reveal letters adds character to the show.

I still don't see how anyone can say there are fewer rounds. As I said, they're still averaging 4-5 rounds per game, and this is even with Toss-Ups, Jackpot and Mystery plugs and a SPIN ID draw.

And unlike the last few years of Barker TPIR, it doesn't feel (at least not to me) like they're doing the show at ludicrous speed to get everything in.

I guess the toss up is why there are fewer rounds and the increased commercials.  It's some of the dresses that make Vanna's chest look flat while other make it look big.

I am sorry but I am just saying what I see. It was only last year I started watching wheel again.  My late grandma used to go crazy if WOF was on and was in danger of missing it.

It's too bad the woman that won the Vanna for a day thing didn't get more screen time.

I am surprised Vanna is still around after Janice got kicked off TPIR for younger models.

If the technology of self-appearing letters on a big screen is more influential on your 'nads than a blonde lady in a scantily-clad dress, it shouldn't be a surprise you'd believe a casino would shutter an entire table area for a TV show taping. The WOF's still running in France, Brazil, Russia, and the U.S, and those recently ended in Australia, New Zealand, Britain, Germany, the Philippines, Italy, Poland, Spain, and Malaysia, all who ALWAYS did or currently do feature hostesses managing letters at a puzzle board would also agree.

FTR, Janice Pennington was 58 when she left TPIR in 2000, Vanna just turned 54. You can do the math.
