Not too horrifying.  The G-R's probably won't like it, though.
Response on g-r.net has been overwhelmingly positive. It looks spiffy from this corner, as well.
It's a miracle.  Maybe there's some sanity left over there after all.

I don't mind the new part. I just wish they wouldn't feel the need to have the entire rainbow on the curtains.

By the way, apparently today was the first tape day for Season 40, so we should be seeing a lot of pics/video of the rest of the set quite soon- I imagine we'll start seeing video on priceisright.com not too long after they finish airing Season 39 first-run eps.
Which, aside from a couple "special" shows and a couple pre-empted shows, was actually yesterday.

And as per someone who was in the audience for the first taping, the only other change is that the mics in CR are now remote controlled, adjusting to a persons height. The only acknowledgement of the 40th is the same displays they put in between the doors at the top of each season.

I wonder if the new mics can be programmed to cold-cock any stoner who bids $420.

"Durrrr... $420, Drew. Hee hee hee."

*ZAP*

"Don't worry, man, it happens. Jeff?"

"Um, $1869."

*ZAP*

"Ooh. Mike?"

"$9001, Drew."

"Sorry, man...And, Rachel, since our other three bidders have been incinerated, you win by default! Come on up here!"

I think the rule should be that if the ARP is within $100 of $420, then it's acceptable.  If the ARP is within $250, then you get a pass (everybody gets ONE).  If the prize is nowhere near $420, then the contestant should have to wear the cone of shame and suffer some obscenely horrible penalty.

  • Just leave the set; that’d be terrific.
