For those whose are interested in these sorts of things, CBS has put together a website covering the history of Television City, going as far to give the layouts, square ft., and background of each studio. They even go as far as to list every show that taped at TV City and which one the show taped in during that month, going all the way back to when the studio first opened in 1953, including pilots. Pretty cool stuff, IMO. Here is the website.

It's a cool site to be sure with lots of neat photos, but I was disappointed that they had All New Beat the Clock in studio 33 when it was actually in 31 during its entire (brief) run. At one point they have TPIR in studio 43 which I don't believe was ever the case.

I noticed that Press Your Luck was also listed as being taped in May 1983. I'm guessing that was when they shot the pilot episodes (assuming there was more than one). I also noticed that they didn't do any tapings on July 1985, and July 1986. I wonder why?

Also, they're correct about 80s Pyramid beginning production in August 1982, but $100K Pyramid didn't exist yet. As for the tapings being listed in June 1988, I'm willing to bet that they were for the final 4 weeks of the syndicated edition.

Now, I'm going off of a 20-year-old memory, but did Face the Music ever tape at TV City? When USA aired reruns in the late-80s/early-90s, they'd leave in the ticket plugs, and I could've sworn I saw a 7800 Beverly Blvd. address?

FTM never taped at TVC. The whole run was at KTLA/Hollywood Center/Tribune/Sunset Bronson. Pick a name. Sandy Frank would NEVER had paid TVC's high rent!

It's not uncommon for shows to tape several weeks ahead and then take some sort of summer break.  That's probably what happened in Press Your Luck's case.  I'd imagine the July '85 break was also used to re-configure the board.  The new colors debuted in late August, so it's probably a safe bet the break was used to put that all in place.

I find the July '86 break more interesting.  They aired new episodes up until late July, then went into reruns for five weeks before finishing their run with new episodes in Sept.  Those must have been the ones taped in August '86.  I guess they knew by then they were cancelled, but I still find it odd they'd have that series of reruns and then go back to new shows.

Odd that it lists Card Sharks as taping there in January 1983.  Maybe another pilot?

I also noticed that some shows are missing (i.e. Blackout, which started taping in December 1987). Oddly enough, the pilot taping is listed. The May 1982 Child's Play pilot taping is also missing.

Had no idea they taped a TTD pilot w/Pyramid. However, I want to say the 1996 and 2000 pilots were November...I remember they were both taped on or around my birthday.

I also noticed Body Language in December 1983.
