Remote Control airing 7/31

I just found out that VH1 Classic is celebrating MTV's 30th birthday and will be airing an episode of Remote Control, today at 5 pm eastern.

A huge word of warning--neither episode from the MTV30 marathon is complete.  The Red Hot Chili Peppers ep. during the 5 PM hour is just round 1.  Another hour of MTV30 has the 2nd round of an episode with LL Cool J, Julie Brown (redhead, not "Downtown"), and Weird Al Yankovic.  I preferred the LL Cool J et al. ep. since it had Ranger Bob, Sing Along with Colin, and Adam Sandler as the Trivia Delinquent.  And Kari Wuhrer.  Mrrrrrrrow.  My bunk awaits.

For anyone who grew up watching MTV for music videos of their favorite 80s hits, the whole marathon is worth watching.

At midnight tonight (midnight eastern) they will be airing the first hour of MTV 30th anniversary.  Most of the stuff I saw was stuff from the 90s and 2000s I missed the 80s stuff.

Also, three game show related bits There will be Alan Hunter who hosted Triple Threat for Jim Lange, as well as Mark Goodman who hosted Illinois Instant Riches and Kennedy who hosted Friend or Foe of course.

When MTV debuted on our cable system in the summer of 1982, they had (it seemed) about 50 videos in their collection.  It wasn't that great early on.

(However, I would like to thank them for airing that Bangles concert on my birthday in 1986.  Susanna Hoffs always makes a nice present.)
