I think "Price is Right" might have used that at least once as well.  I'm sure there are others.
I do believe you're right, and I think it was more than once....

I also could swear I remember there being a DSW on Christmas Day....Had to be around 1980 or 1981 if TPiR aired on Christmas during those years...

Yep, and so did MG '7x, MG PM, and MG '90. And you're right, TPIR has used that song as well.

I think "Sleigh Ride" is the most commonly used song to end game shows on Christmas. Anyone agree with that?

I remember Wheel ended the 1996 Christmas show with a jazzy version of Jingle Bells.
Another thing I noticed about game shows that aired on Christmas Day is that sometimes they'd use a Christmas song as their closing theme.  I remember "Wheel of Fortune" using Leroy Anderson's version of "Sleigh Ride" as their close for a couple of Christmas shows in the late '70s.

I think "Price is Right" might have used that at least once as well.  I'm sure there are others.
You're right...the last I heard TPiR use it was the late-90s. I know $otC also used "Sleigh Ride."

Here's another festive question: has any show ever used "Auld Lang Syne" for New Year's?
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Let's get the obvious one out of the way: Match Game 7x.

You sure about MG PM?  I'd think a once-a-week syndie would go out of their way to avoid any date references, as a show intended for air first-run in December could air on another station first-run in April (not to mention the rerun later in the season).

It wasn't New Year's, but TTD used a small section of it at the end of the 79-80 season finale...I think then-champ Thom McKee had something to do w/it. :-)

I am officially adding "Dream House" to the list of those shows that aired on Christmas.

There's a discussion about that episode in the "Game Show Coincidences" Thread.

Don't add it to the list, as Xmas fell on Sunday in 1983, which was the only Xmas Eubanks Dream House aired.

OK, Scratch that.

In its place, I've added a new one to the list: I've Got A Secret.

The episode from the 12 Games marathon had a Christmas tree made of, listen to this: TOOTHPICKS!

Pretty creative, huh?

"The $25,000 Pyramid" definitely showed new episodes on Christmas in 1984, 1985, and 1986. (In 1987, they reran 1986's Christmas week.) The Mystery 7 prize was always a new car on Christmas episodes. In the 1986 episode, the challenger didn't win anything, but because it was Christmas, they gave him a trip. (Can't remember where right now -- Mexico, I think.) Also, "Super Password" showed new episodes on Christmas in 1984, 1985, 1986, and 1987.

Someone mentioned the airings of the 25K in December of 1993. I remember thinking at the time what an odd choice it was for CBS to show 10-year-old reruns of one of their former game shows. The only thing I could figure was that they were testing the waters for maybe bringing it back.

A new car on Pyramid's Christmas episodes as a Mystery 7 prize? Wow!

That's one Christmas gift you can't pass up on!

That's just as good as winning $1100 on a 7-11, $5K for the tie-breaker, and $10K/$25K.

Also, after a little thinking, I'll add Beat The Clock to the list, because, as I recall, from the "12 Games and "Snow Days" Marathons, they did a special Christmas episode of the Monty Hall BTC from 1979. As to the other versions, I don't know.

I'll also add the rest of the "12 Games" shows to the list: Super Password, Tattletales, To Tell The Truth, The Dating Game, and Body Language.

On New Year's Eve '82, the CBS Pyramid offered a car for the Mystery 7, but the team missed by one, causing a very loud groan from the audience.
