I found that Fandango and Nighttime Wheel of Fortune have 2 things in common:

1. Both shows aired in 1983.

2. Both shows changed their formats in 1987.

ya know I never thought of that except for both shows starting in '83.  Fandango a little bit before Nighttime Wheel.  It was part of TNN's First day of programming.

You forgot "Both were on TV", "Both were game shows", and "People participated on both shows".

Both shows had hosts with brown hair.

Both shows had scoreboards to display the scores of the contestants.

Both shows had parts of the set that were red and parts of the set that were blue.

Pat Sajak had a pet dog named Bill Anderson, and Bill Anderson had a pet pat sajak named Dog.

The producers of both shows insisted on using studio cameras to capture images of the aforementioned hosts, and set-pieces to expedite game play.

There's three more things they have in common:

1. They both ran 30 minutes (with commercials).
2. They both had 3 contestants standing behind red, blue, and yellow-colored podiums.
3. What's the third one... 30 minutes, 3 contestants... let's see... No, I can't. Sorry.

Gov. Perry, we have some lovely parting gifts for you backstage and thanks for playing our game. Byron York, who's our next contestant?

/Well, Chris, he's a former radio talk show host, pizza company CEO and head of an industry trade group. From Atlanta, let's welcome Herman Cain!

//Seriously, a lot of these debates look like the set of Britain's "15 to 1."
