Rather obscure GS trivia questions

Recently, somebody has been sending me rather obscure questions about 1970s game shows (today's was, "What did you win if you had $1180 on the 1974 nighttime version of Jeopardy?").

The last time I came across somebody asking questions out of the blue, it turned out that he was trying to get into a magicians' website, and they were asking rather difficult questions to make sure non-magicians didn't try to access the site just to steal secrets.

This is going to sound strange, but does anybody know of any site where this sort of information would be necessary, or even useful?

(I'm probably just reading too much into this, and he's probably just in some sort of '70s game show trivia challenge with friends of his...)

I find it exceptionally hard to believe that a real magician would care that little about protecting their trade secrets.

Assuming you were the winner:

If it was early in the run, it depended on what you pulled from the Jeopardy Jackpot Board.  (Imagine The New Treasure Hunt, only with the $25,000 divided between two boxes (if you found either half, you picked another number), and all of the other prizes being a car, a trip to Europe, or something like $3000.)

If it was later in the run, a Chevrolet Caprice, IIRC.  (You won a Vega if you won with less than $1000, $10,000 if you won with $1500-1999 (later 2000-2499), and $25,000 if you won with $2000 (later $2500) or more.)

Whatever model of cars they were, I recall Art Fleming mentioning week-after-week that winners of less than $1000, received a $3,000 automobile, and those with $1,000-$1,499 (later $1,000-$1,999) received a $5,000 automobile.
