We're talking about my favorite announcer here (sorry, Randy).
He announced one week of Wheel Of Fortune during the summer
of 1980 between Charlie O.'s departure and Jack Clark's arrival.
He also replaced Mark Driscoll (in the middle of a week) in the booth
during the short-lived late 80s Now You See It revival.
For a long time, Don was the voice of the Shell Answer Man.
No prob, Don. Morrow is a great guy and a classic voice with great warmth. We split the warm-up and announcer duties on "Challengers" circa 1990.
Everytime I see him these days I bring up my childhood fave show "Camouflage" that he hosted, and he shares a story of the early days. Last one (I posted this before) was the confusion over the 2 Dons on the original TPIR. Pardo was the show announcer and Morrow was the sponsor's commercial announcer. Don is one of the great old pros and has kept up to date with the changing times in technology (ISDN, etc.) and in style.
