Couldn't get through it. I'm surprised the internet has enough bandwidth for this many observations.

Couldn't get through the episode itself or the commentary?

That's the downside of the internet. Everyone thinks they're special and have worthwhile opinions. Many times they are incorrect.

Agreed.  I made it through about a third of it, and got bored with it.

I was in my late 20's when I first saw "Double Dare," and it wasn't interesting when it was new.  I never really enjoyed those Nick game shows, with the exception of "Figure it Out"

Okay...I'll admit, the concept was interesting, and I checked a few of the other shows he reviewed (in the back of my mind, I kicked him off my lawn for having never seen Alf*).

While I liked the concept of mocking shows from either before his time or infancy, the timecodes for everything turned it into a TL;DR (or Christian's awesome gif). A Cliff's Notes blog with semi-snarky commentary would've worked just fine IMO.

*/I also concur on just how bad Alf really was
"I just wanna give a shoutout to my homies in their late-30s who are watching this on Paramount+ right now, cause they couldn't stay up late enough to watch it live!"

Now celebrating his 21st season on GSF!

There was a marvelous skit on SNL last night poking fun at the idea that because the internet makes it possible for you to do things, you are automatically an expert (in your own mind) at doing those things.  Rembert thinks he's an entertaining critic.
This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
Stay tuned for all the obsessive-compulsive fun of Words Have Meanings.

There was? And I missed it? I had been waiting so long.

I was there for the eighties. I fondly remember the things I enjoyed, and I laugh at the Crystal Pepsi, Pogs and slap bracelets and the like that moved to the dustbin of history. I enjoy bantering with some of my friends from the Forum here about how Double Dare was not only a really well crafted balance of game and show, but it served the audience of the time. This guy isn't even bothering to dig any deeper than "hey, I like that they do the cold open," and he's no more of an "expert" on his specialist subject than anyone else who had cable service back then.

ALL of you get off my lawn. I actively miss Crystal Pepsi. That stuff was *great*.

At the time of its introduction, I was living in the test market for Crystal Pepsi.  It was available only in cans.

Well, no wonder it failed. You'd think they would have the courtesy to serve it to you directly at the table.

But good god Diet Crystal Pepsi sucked.  I remember them handing out samples at the grocery store I worked at back then - it sure wasn't around long.
