Summoning the masters of minutiae...
« on: May 12, 2012, 01:42:34 PM »
While searching through the website the kids call YouTube, I found myself watching a couple Challengers episodes and I was kind of curious as to something.

Now, when the Ultimate Challenge was played in its "original win three games and you get to play it" format, I know Larry Kaplan was the first to get it and Stan Newman got it almost right after he hit it big in the Tournament of Champions. Since there was quite a sizeable gap between the two wins and Stan's was for $31,000, I would have to figure the pot was hit at least one or two times in between.

So what I'm curious to find out is how many times the round was won in addition to those two and if anyone can pinpoint the exact date that they went to the $10,000 daily format. Might anybody know that?
I suppose you can still learn stuff on TLC, though it would be more in the Goofus & Gallant sense, that is (don't do what these parents did)"- Travis Eberle, 2012
