Marc Summers announcing on TJW
« on: June 30, 2012, 12:00:49 AM »
I'm curious about this. How did a 22 year old page get to sit behind an announcer's booth for one week? Did the regular announcer (I forget who was doing Joker at the time) call in sick at the last second? Was Jack feeling generous that day?

Also, did any of Marc's episodes ever air on GSN? And if so, do any circulate among collectors?

Johnny Jacobs was the announcer. Just a few completely off-the-wall guesses (hey, it's almost 2:30 here):

1. They needed a staffer quickly, who could speak clearly.
2. They figured the show wouldn't get a) rerun, or b) discussed 40 years later.
3. They needed a staffer quickly, who came cheap. They would've prolly had to pay Johnny O. or Kenny Williams much more...

Again, all speculation.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!
