Are they using any of the old music on this version?

Per Buzzerblog, the original 80s theme, in it's original form, is being retained for this version of the show.

Quote from: Buzzerblog
...they are keeping the 80s “Tuning Up” as the theme song – no, not a remake but the actual composition. The majority of the 80s sound effects have found their way back too.

Here's the source.

Wait, are they using Ken Aldin's Tuning Up from the original run(s), or Bob Cobert's rework from '82 on?  And is Cobert's version even called Tuning Up?

Cobert. Not sure what his version was called.

One thing I noticed in what I've seen of the 70's Pyramid is that they never credited who composed the theme song, unlike the 80's version.

"Tuning Up" is [IIRC] a library track. Typically, when a show used library music as their theme, they don't necessarily credit the composer or company that supplied it. I have noticed this to not be so much the case as of late....
There are three things I've learned never to discuss with people: Religion, politics, and the proper wrapping of microphone cables.

I've always just called it "The '80s version of Tuning Up."

Someone once said (back in the halcyon days of ATGS?) that the '80s theme sounded like someone was trying to play the '70s theme with the sheet music upside-down.

I could swear that was the Australian Price is Right theme that was being talked about.

/and why do I remember that?

Twas Pyramid - here's a link to the post from a mere ten years ago. Strange to pull a thread seemingly at random and find yourself in it, too.

I've always just called it "The '80s version of Tuning Up."

And I called it "Tuning Up Again"...

In that case, it's been said about both of them!
