As to hostesses, who would you choose in this list?
Scrabble didn't have a model?
I'm afraid not.

Interesting and worthy threadjacking. Roxanne (I am just barely old enough to remember her), Bess Myerson, Lovely Carol Merrill, and Vanna.

So you knew it all the time but asked the question anyway? What the hell, mate? What the hell?
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

At first I thought one of the original Barker's Beauties (honestly Janice more than anything), but I could agree with this.
"They're both Norman Jewison movies, Troy, but we did think of one Jew more famous than Tevye."

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Chuck Woolery because he's ... naturally stoned.

(yes, America, it's obscure reference time, an avant-garde little event)
This isn't a plug, but you can ask me about my book.

Um...obviously it would be...Clifton Fadiman | Edd Byrnes | Patrick Wayne | Brad Sherwood

Putting Fadiman in with the others seems bizarre- his work on "Information Please" played a major role in shaping what a host would be and do, particularly on panel programs.
You're right. I wasn't particularly impressed with his work on The Name's the Same, but I didn't mind his work on What's My Line?, and I just looked at Information Please (he's like a completely different person. Wow). He certainly doesn't belong on this list. I'll revise.

Clifton Fadiman Bennett Cerf | Edd Byrnes | Patrick Wayne | Brad Sherwood

When it comes to hostesses...

Roxanne | Carol Merrill | Janice Pennington | Vanna White

I think he was just repeating what the search led to. Still kind of "what the hell", but I don't think he knew it all this time.
Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

Okay, my turn. I don't recall participating in the earlier lists, so here goes:

Cullen (natch), Kennedy, Martindale and Trebek. Add up the shows they've hosted. 10 years ago, Barker would have been in Trebek's place.

Bill Cullen, Jackie Gleason, William Shatner, and Chris Jericho.

If we're being serious:

Bill Cullen, Bob Barker, Wink Martindale (for being the model for the pop-culture stereotypical game show host), Alex Trebek.
