Question About Bergeron's Hollywood Squares
« on: November 24, 2012, 08:32:34 PM »
I remember during the early 2000's, Version 2.0 of the end game featured the player picking the celebrity partner for the end game, and the celebrity would reveal the dollar amount he/she would be holding.  Each correct answer would be worth that amount, and then the contestant could keep his or her winnings, or risk losing it by answering a double-or-nothing question.

My question is, what cash amounts (not range) were held by the celebrities?  Were there any $1,500 envelopes, or $2,500 envelopes?  I know there was a $3,000 envelope, as I saw it on YouTube very recently.
I am developing classic game show PC games.

I would presume that one each of $1,000, $1,500, $2,000, $2,500, $3,000, $3,500, $4,000, $4,500, and $5,000 would be in use, but don't hold me to that...

I figured that it was two each of $1,000; $1,500; $2,000; $2,500; and then one for $5,000, given that the $5,000 showed up so rarely, and that having those larger numbers would increase the chances of having to give away $30,000 (or more) a lot more than the producers would like.I figured that it was two each of $1,000; $1,500; $2,000; $2,500; and then one for $5,000, given that the $5,000 showed up so rarely, and that having those larger numbers would increase the chances of having to give away $30,000 (or more) a lot more than the producers would like. I also never saw anything between $2,500 and $5,000.

I thought the configuration was once posted, but I couldn't find anything here or on ATGS. It wouldn't prove anything, but did they ever show who had the $5,000 envelope if it weren't picked?

Brian Conn to the white courtesy phone please...

I don't remember it being a series of progressive amounts in sequence ($1,000; $1,500; $2,000; $2,500).  There were some duplicate amounts up there.  I'll see if I can find my files from that season to verify for sure.
