ObThread: Still cool that at least some game show content is going this route - don\'t know if Hulu would house some of it but I\'m all for it.
The only thing missing is the \"special one-hour episode\". Yes, the original 1988 version had one. I remember researching it on old L.A. Times newspapers, which also mentioned there being a Kudlas Vs. Sterns episode.
Now that all 13 have been uncovered, it\'s clear there never was an hour-long episode. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E-B-nedV3lY\'>This commercial states that the celebrity episode is one hour, but that\'s blatantly false. It\'s likely they just aired two episodes in a row and called it a day. Very easy to see where confusion would set in.
Also, do you have links to the LA Times articles you found? I\'m having a hard time finding them, and I\'d love to read them.
It was the T.V. listings in the Los Angeles Times at my local library. On Microfilm.
Finally, why haven\'t the kids\' version episodes from 1986 to 1989 shown up on Itunes? A rights issue perhaps?
Just out of curiosity, why do you keep deleting your posts and reposting the question? I don\'t think it\'s going to get lost in the shuffle.
It has to do with my being put on moderation status recently.
So, what, you can\'t edit?
Not sure what you mean. I can\'t edit my profile to get off moderation status.
And what about my question? Why haven\'t the kids\' version episodes from 1986 to 1989 shown up onhttp://www.gameshowforum.org/index.php?showtopic=24806&page=3#\'> Itunes? A rights issue?
And what about my question?
The Fox FDD episodes looked pretty high. So I\'m gonna say that yes, they were pulled from the masters,
Anyone know the video quality? Are they pulled from the masters?
They\'re fantastic. Here\'s a http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/6959/g5ub.png\'>sample screenshot. I don\'t know about the \"masters,\" but they reran these episodes on Nickelodeon in 1990, so they\'re the same minus a slight edit now and again at the end of the show to not mention Fox, which is how they aired in repeats on the network.
In iTunes, you can usually hover over the thumbnail in the store to see a preview clip and you can judge the quality that way.
Wait, did they really edit out references to Fox? I never noticed it, because the editing was very well done.
I highly doubt it\'s a rights issue. It\'s their own program, after all. They just may prefer to release those episodes first, but it would be nice to see some of the others show up, especially the first taped episode. The quality of the copy I received via tape trade is less than desirable.
Super Sloppy Double Dare from 1987 has been added. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GQ0RLG4/\'>Volume one is on Amazon, but currently listed as \"unavailable,\" while volume two is on both https://itunes.apple.com/us/tv-season/super-sloppy-double-dare-vol./id745698888\'>iTunes and Amazon.
