There was supposed to be a video tribute to Monty, but it never aired because Wayne Brady went off-script. Monty mentioned it as being narrated by his daughter, Joanna Gleason. Too bad.
I tried looking for that video tribute on HLN's site, no go.
Also, the "In Memoriam" segment barred Bill Rafferty.
The best part had to be the Bob Stewart tribute.
If they ever have the guts to do the 41st ceremony, they shouldn't air on HLN. I've thought about some other suggested venues:
E! (No, that's the network of the Kar-DUMB-ians)
WE (No, that's the "Bridezillas" network)
MyRetro, a.k.a. RTV (Then they'd have to invite Wolfman Mac as a presenter. He could do the animation honors.)
Syndication (That's the best possible choice)
You know, no matter how hard they try to improve the ceremony, it only ends up worse overall; although a few moments do stand out. So can we stick a fork in the Daytime Emmys and say they're history?
Cordially,
Tammy
P.S. Wayne Brady is now 0 for 4 in the Outstanding Game Show Host category. Looks like Geno is off the hook for now. (His 1999 Lifetime Achievement honor notwithstanding. And that was awarded late in the year. I predict the same thing will happen to the Winkster this year, if not while he's still walking the face of the earth.)
