As much as I hate it when they come up with ideas like this, I\'m actually kind of interested to see how this one will turn out. Based on the photos, they appear to be trying to maintain the usual prize structure of an episode, which means they\'re going to have to mess with the game\'s format somehow. I don\'t like it, but I want to see how they make it work.

Change is ha-...wait, no, actually, I\'m with you here, at first glance this seems lame as hell. :)

After the surprise is known it isn\'t like you have to go through the rigamarole of the buildup

But they probably will, with George doing hilarious misleading different copy for each playing.

I admit, I\'ll probably take a look at this episode, which is all they really want, but I find myself wondering how you could do this without the novelty getting stale and the audience tuning out after Act 3 or so.

Showcase winner gets to play Plinko for an ice cream pony, obviously.
If you didn’t create it, it isn’t your content.

More seriously, how much time would they save by skipping the reveal and not explaining the rules every time?

Based on the article, they aren\'t gonna be skipping the reveal, but I imagine they could save plenty of time that way.

I thought of that, but when you add in the prize descriptions for the cars/trips that aren\'t normally part of Plinko, I figured that it would more or less cancel out the time saved by not explaining the rules.

Too much to ask for some old clips leading into and out of commercials here and there, you think? Are there enough funny/historic Plinko moments?

Other than the first ever playing and maybe the record-setting win, I can\'t think of too many more. Maybe a montage of chips getting stuck, but I don\'t think Plinko has that many memorable moments.

Just show all the clips of Bob pulling out the Plinko stick and call it \"Bob Barker: Poking Before FaceBook\"

I actually really like this idea. I kind of see it as the show making fun of how much Plinko is and has been played by playing it for an entire show.

Me: Of all of the game shows you've hosted besides Jeopardy!, like High Rollers or Classic Concentration, which is your favorite?
Alex Trebek: I'd have to say To Tell The Truth, because it was the first time in my career that I got to sit down while I was hosting.

If they really wanted to be dairng, they\'d announce that they\'re retiring Plinko.

For the record, I think a better idea than playing it six times is to play it twice, once in each half.  At least that wouldn\'t be too overbearing and be special enough to be special.

But six times?  No way.

I\'m pretty sure at least one person has gotten the five-chip wipeout, and at least once in the Drew era there was a one-chip wipeout, so we\'re at at least four.  Add in the woman from one of Drew\'s first shows who really had to use the bathroom, and I think we can get there.

Originally I didn\'t like it. I just think any single game played six times won\'t be interesting. I\'m more open to it now, though. For one thing, this will be the only time that the show has a near-perfect \"merit factor.\" That is, except for the prices of the IUFB\'s, the contestants at each level will have had exactly the same opportunities.

Yeah, I remember after one older woman wiped out, Barker had one of his beauties (either Janice or Holly) take a chip and try to win some money for the lady. The model\'s chip landed in zero as well. At that point, they had to go to a commercial. God knows Barker tried.

When I first read about this idea, I thought back to the 5000th episode where every game was played for a car. I put this idea in that category.

This will definitely have its quirks that will make it a tougher sell on paper than the all-car show. I gather, as some of you have, that the prize will be on the last chip because it doesn\'t make sense for it to be there all the time. Plus, timing of the episode will be an issue. But they had to have some idea, hopefully, of how to work around things. All we can do is wait and watch. But I look forward to it.
