"The Pyramid" Game Software
« on: August 26, 2013, 11:13:39 PM »

I\'ve been meaning to post this for awhile and finally got around to it. :) Last year I built software for The Pyramid that presented format changes to GSN (and used for contestant rehearsals). It was all built before the name, set, music, and rules were finalized but is pretty close to what aired.

It\'s just been sitting on my drive and figured I\'d let some others play around. I\'m not sure how well it runs on anything outside of the Macs we used so YMMV. There\'s probably some bugs (most were ironed out), so hopefully they don\'t ruin anything. It was a fun project to work on and hope you guys enjoy.

Runs like a champ on a mid-range Windows laptop! Thanks for sharing...near as I can tell it\'s pretty bug-free!

Now I\'m wondering how hard it might be to write a Word macro or something that can stitch together game files in this format from Todd Robinson\'s format from WAY back in the day, seeing as I\'m still sitting on 30+ shows worth of content... :)

The summer before my senior year of high school, I got to take a computer programming class at a local college back when computer programming classes were still something of a novelty (we\'re talking late seventies).  My personal pet project, which at the time was well liked, was a Pyramid Winners Circle board.  Compared to this, or similar works I\'ve seen from Mike Burger, John Ricci, Travis Schario and others, mine would be preposterously, laughably quaint.  Still, every time I see a nice one like this, it takes me back to that one crazy summer.  So thanks.

Basic.  There was a brief window of time when I though I might want to be a computer programmer, but that flame was quickly extinguished when I came to Michigan State and their introductory class was still using Fortran and punch cards.

One glitch I wanted to point out for anyone who might want to use this (I\'m on Windows 7) - and the only glitch I\'ve noticed, so very nice - it appears that in the Winner\'s Circle, the buzzer always goes off and stops the win pattern, no matter if you win the thing in 5 or 59 seconds.
