Bumper Stumpers question about the removal of the Play/Challenge optio

Why bother adding the extra step? Is there a quiz show where you can buzz in and force the opponent to answer a toss-up?

Not a real one, but you can do just that in \"You Don\'t Know Jack\".

The tiebreaker in Street Smarts, too.

Bumper Stumpers question about the removal of the Play/Challenge optio

So one of those is a parody of a game show, the other was used very infrequently. And by very, I mean very.

As the lead-in to some other element, would you see the option where you could force the opposition to answer the question? On Bumper Stumpers the toss-up was meant to provide more meat on the bone and to provide an interesting way to get to the board. Play-or-pass was not all that interesting.
