My interpretation on Dan\'s comment is that he\'s paranoid today\'s producers are so incompetent or desperate for a hit that they may legitimately think Curling for Rupees is a great idea.

Of course, you had someone actually take the bait and post a real concept, so Chris\' post really is valid, even if 99% of the responses are mocking the OP.

We don\'t recommend that anyone post their concepts for game shows or TPIR pricing games on a publicly viewable forum such as this, for obvious intellectual property and copyright reasons.

Concerning the OP and the respondents who took the OP\'s post seriously, you have nothing to worry about with regard to intellect.

I think what he\'s saying (and if not, I\'ll say it) is that with game show producers in the past decade, they may see any of these \"concepts\" and think they\'re actually worth doing.

Yeah, I\'m sure some producer is drooling to produce Jianoran\'s Trivia Game of Ridiculousness or The $4,500,000 Let\'s Drink the Unmarked Bottle Under the Sink. (That last one is my idea, and so help me if I ever see someone drinking a quart of Clorox bleach for life changing money.)

Here\'s my contribution to this forum: \"The $1,000,000 Beat the Reaper\". Contestants are injected with a myriad of mystery widespread diseases and have only 45 seconds to identify the disease before they succumb to their slow death. Contestants who correctly identify the malady based on their symptoms (within 45 seconds) are injected with a booster shot curing them. If they fail, the game is over, they get no booster shot, and lose everything earned up to that point.

Oh man, I forget how that went, but I think if you won the tournaments of champions of TPIR, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, you were the Triple Crown Winner and won all of the money in Scrooge McDuck\'s vault. Or the Malcolm jackpot. Either one.

I think it would be interesting to have three players playing three different game shows in the span of an hour, with sliding-scale points awarded based on performance--a cross between Krypton Factor and PAX\'s Omegathon.

If not that, I plump for either Musical Casino or nobody\'s favorite time-waster: Rando-Quiz.

To tell you the truth, I really would like to see something along those lines with civilians and the winner at the end gets a good size cash haul.

It isn\'t really a marathon: Imagine if the contestants played abbreviated games of Big Showdown, Press Your Luck, Win Ben Stein\'s Money and Russian Roulette, scoring 25-10-0 for first, second, third place along the way, and finish it off with the Countdown Round to crown a winner.

That said, the Omegathon (unless it\'s changed in the last two years) ran closer to your average reality show: the Omeganauts would compete in an event, one (or more in the case of a team event) of the poorest performers would be eliminated, continue until you were down to two who then compete in the Main Theater in either a) something the public can\'t get hands on yet (so, like, if it happened tomorrow, maybe something on the X1), or b) something retro-kitchy (claw machine and skee-ball are the two more famous examples), while Krahulik stands off to the side and makes ill-considered comments about dickwolves.

I did this with some games my students created as a project for the class. That format worked quite well, even though some of the games were stinkers. (A math version of Monopoly? Really?)

My concepts are free for anyone to copy/steal/use. I\'m too old to build a career in gameshows. Having said that, I\'ve always wanted to see a game involving a roulette wheel. Maybe do a q&a/math game involving the numbers on the wheel. Whomever hits or gets closest to a target number wins, etc...
