TPiR 12-18 MDS Ratings

From Mediaweek.com:

Fueled by original episodes of CSI (#1 for the evening: 18.1/27) and Without A Trace (#1: 14.3/22) from 9-11 p.m., and opposite two-and-a-half hours of repeats on NBC, CBS's winning advantage was 55 percent last night. Although a repeat of NBC's Friends opened with a first place 10.8/17, the recently relocated Good Morning, Miami fell to second at 8:30 p.m. in the overnights with an 8.1/12 -- five percent below the second half of CBS's The Price Is Right Million Dollar Spectacular (8.5/13). Overall, The Price Is Right averaged a respectable 7.8/12 from 8-9 p.m.

If I'm not mistaken, is that the best rating that a TPiR prime-time special has ever got? If not, those are still very decent ratings for a prime-time game show.

The 30th Anniversary Primetime show did a 10.9.

No show after that has done better to my knowledge.
Enjoy lots and lots of backstage TPIR photos and other fun stuff here. And yes, I did park in Syd Vinnedge's parking spot at CBS

Don't know what the rating was per number, but when the 30th special repeated in July 2002 I believe it was somewhere in top 20 again.

Is it just me or does Randy look like a cross between Johnny Olsen and Rod Roddy in that picture?

P.S. Merry Christmas!

 I was thinking Chuck Woolery.

Now celebrating his 22nd season on GSF!

Then again, Mr. Randy West, former...*ahem*...warmer-upper to....Anne Robinson especially, is looking mighty pimpin slick as hell at the MDS picture, yo! :)  hehe.

That's nothing. A few months ago, I was at my sister's house and we were watching TPIR. She had never heard Randy before and asked me about him. So, I showed her Randy's TTTT90 episode, and she said he looked like...

....Bill Clinton. [I admit, there were some slight resemblences.......] Randy, have you ever heard THAT one before? ;-)

I haven't seen Randy's TTTT90 pics to be able to make that judgement, but he don't resemble Billy Boy.

Anyways, hopefully we get to see Randy on camera at least once this season.

I didn't think so at first either, but taking a closer look I noticed that the shapes of their faces are a bit similar.

Interesting that he was asked a question about happenings in a White House elevator.... ;-) [you have to see the epsiode to get it]

A comment made in the wings during my first warm-up at "Price" that has been repeated more than a few times was that I was "channeling Johnny". I consider it a great compliment. But to start to LOOK like Johnny O is a concept that is just plain weird!

That's a new one. Is Monica available to share a New Year's Eve cigar?

Very astute observation! Yes, curiously the segment was about White House scandals.

Pimpin's slick? Yo dawg, I'm down wit dat!     ;-)

Well, you ARE Mr. Personality...[ducking BIG TIME]

Anyhoo, I personally think Randy looks like a cross between Rod and Chuck Woolery, myself.

He kind of DOES look like a cross between Rod and Chuck...with a little Johnny O thrown in for good measure. But no matter who he resembles, I'm just thankful that CBS/G-T/Fremantle found a wonderful talent to stand behind that podium. God Bless you, Randy! You're doing an amazing job!
