Dark Shadows DVD set - game shows?
« on: January 02, 2014, 01:55:23 PM »
Hi all -

I've recently been introduced to "Dark Shadows" and have decided to start from the beginning with episodes which are available for viewing over the internet.  (Get back to me in 4-5 years once I've finally finished the series!)  I'm trying to find the DVD set at an affordable price for me, though the lowest price I can find is a bit over $250.

My question:  the list of extras on the set includes "1960s game shows".  Does anyone have the set?  What game shows are included?  I see on another thread that a clip of "Generation Gap" is featured.

It seems an exciting prospect.  Was nice to see "Stump the Stars" on the Dick van Dyke Show DVD set, as well as a clip from Serling's version of "Liars' Club" on one of the Twilight Zone sets.

They're all clips. I can't remember if the clip of "Generation Gap" features David Henesy or Jonathan Frid. They both appeared at one point or another. Jonathan Frid, stuntman/werewolf Alex Stevens, and Joan Bennett's turns as mystery guest on syndie WML? are all included as well.

Frid appeared on The Generation Gap twice, once briefly in character for the "older generation" to identify (they did) and another time (the following week, I think) as a celebrity player.

Both appearances exist in full.  The YouTube link to a slightly edited version of the complete episode is below.

This has been another installment of Matt Ottinger's Masters of the Obvious.
