CBS Pyramid question
« on: January 01, 2004, 05:33:38 PM »
I know this is sort of silly, but I was wondering if the big red chairs used during the CBS 25k Pyramid and the 100k Pyramid were created for the show?  Or are they some sort of late 70's early 80's office decor?  Any help would be appreciated!

I'm guessing the hand restraints in the Giver's chair were "installed" specially for the show, but other than that there is nothing special about the chairs beyond their somewhat retro kitsch. :)

If they weren't long ago trashed, those chairs are either in Bob Boden's garage or under the ass of some air conditioning maintenace supervisor at TV City!    ;-)

I have wondered about the whereabouts of those chairs for a long time.  You have 2 very good suggestions about where they may be.  :)  Does anyone have any ideas about what brand they may be or what era?  I am sure probably early 80's, possibly 1982, but I have no clue.

You and me both. A set of Winner's Circle chairs, the conference room we play games in at Microsoft, and a (hopefully Particleman-written) Pyramid simulator is my idea of a potentially fun game night :)

If he's as good a sport as he was on Pyramid, it's prolly in little pieces by now. :-)

BTW, did anyone think of Shatner's tantrum when, a coupla wks ago on the current version, Kennedy blew the final category of "Things That Are Humble" w/the clue "A humble person"? (And no, Kennedy said "A humble person", not "A humble- AAAAAAAAARGGGGGHHHHH!!!", and no chair-throwing was involved...LOL)
